Mitigating Climate Change, Investing in Development:
Fostering the CDM in Least Development Countries

Less than 2% of all registered CDM projects are carried out on the African continent. This brochure provides an overview of BMU-funded projects aiming at fostering the CDM in Africa. This covers research projects, country units that support CDM development in specific countries as well activities to develop the programmatic CDM, which is well-suited for Africa-specific CDM conditions. Moroever, different sector-specific projects are presented, complemented by initiatives to address the lack of carbon and project finance.
